Workshops at the art schools

The collaboration between HA and art schools, where the dance department is running ( Krimulda art and music school, Indra art and music school ) started in 2008 at international dance day, when teachers from HA gave classes at Krimulda and Indra art and music schools. This season HA is organizing intensive workshops in release, dance improvisation and composition for the students of these schools. The workshops will be run in October, January, April, two days each time. The teachers will be from Olga Zitluhina dance company and Dance Anatomy.

The workshop includes:

Dance technique. The class is about to give the idea about the body alignment, relationship with the floor and principles what the teacher uses in his work.

Dance improvisation. The goal is to invite dancer to look for the connection between creative thinking and movement, avoiding unnecessary self-criticism and judgment. During the class students are introduced to ways of wakening sensory, work with self, another person or group. the group plays improvisation structures, where the process is the priority.

Composition. The goal is to create a dance piece in a short time, involving the students in creative process. In two days the dance product is created, which is presented at the end of the second day. It can be solo or duet or group dance. May be the process is continuing at the  next workshops.
