Less and Increase

The class explores the qualities of less and increase movement, through the integration of breath and power.

The class will begin with full body warm up. We start from small movement, use all of joint and muscles from less and increase power and energy. The part of class will include floor work. We will use specific movement through the space: melt, break, move, and slide. We will find range of movement from floor to expand in space.

The second part will include different exercises through the space. We will include improvisation part during the class.

 

Elena Slobodchikova, a choreographer, teacher, dancer and Master of sports in figure skating, was born in Russia, in Krasnoyarsk. Graduated from the Moscow State University of Culture and Arts (MA in Dance) and got MFA\Dance from Hollins University (USA). In 2001, she did her studies in France, Paris.

Since 1998, Elena organizes the center of contemporary dance in Russia and has created pieces for her company (the company has performed at different festivals in Russia).

She works at the Faculty of State College of Dance and is Assistant Professor of Dance department at the Krasnoyarsk Academy of Theatre and Music. Elena is the director of the International Contemporary Dance Festival Isadora in Krasnoyarsk and the board member of directors of Russian Organization of Contemporary Theatres.
